Short hike 1.94 miles elevation gain 404. Several waterfalls to see but you have to look for them.
One of the most postcard-scenic waterfalls of the Columbia Gorge, though far from the tallest. Great moderate hike with a little bit of everything in a fairly short trail. Enjoy the recovery from the huge 2017 Eagle Creek fire.
Expect some climbing, traction issues when wet and weekend crowds. Take a right at the fork near the top to get the best view of the falls and avoid descending the tricky stairs at the falls' viewpoint.
So beautiful and spectacular place. The falls, standing at an impressive 350 feet, provide a stunning spectacle as they plunge into a crystal-clear pool. The misty spray and picturesque surroundings make Wahclella Falls a haven for nature enthusiasts and photographers alike. The well-maintained trail, adorned with wooden bridges and stairs, ensures a safe and enjoyable trek.
A nice hike in the gorge with not a ton of elevation gain. It can be a bit rocky at times. There's some golden trees in fall. Water is turquoise.
Highly recommend!! Important details:
-there’s a $5 vehicle parking fee at the trailhead. You can buy it ahead of time or scan a QR code and pay online, adding license plate details
-the trail splits into two around 3/4 of a mile in or so, both lead to the same spot and the trails connect at the end.
-wear shoes with good grips and protection
You won’t regret this one, so so so amazing. I might come back to swim next time if it’s allowed
This is a gorgeous waterfall. Would recommend going there early as the parking lot is small & gets filled up fast. We went there around 11am & the parking was already full, so we had to park the car in a free parking lot a little further from this location. The hike was interesting and easy with great forest views. Do carry water as there are steep patches as well, rest all a family friendly hike. AT the end of the hike the stunning Wahclella Waterfall looks glorious. Must see in the waterfall region.
Fantastic, quick out and back waterfall hike. Only 1 mile with great views throughout. Has a bit of incline on second half of the trail. It can be narrow in certain points so if you’re unbalanced it might feel a bit sketch.
This has to be one of my favorites. Took the kiddos with and it was a moderate to intense hike. There are some sharp drops and ledges so be careful with kids. Many little waterfalls and viewpoints. Loads of shade for a hot day. The main waterfall itself is magical. This is one where I will return to and will try to get to the top of the waterfall! Excellent picture location. We did our picnic and swimming on the way back - close to the carpark.
